Catching The Vision
For the believer, there is a very unique tension when it comes to buying into God’s vision for the World. On the one hand, we can clearly see that things are not as they should be. If, in the beginning God brought order to chaos, we could sure use some of that order now. It seems that love for our fellow-man is disappearing while selfish, evil motivations abound. However, at the same time, that chaos that is destroying the world exists inside of us too. We are a part of the problem. We truly want to follow God, but very often find ourselves remaining unchanged.
This was the circumstance that God’s people found themselves in in the Gospel of Matthew, chapters 9 and 10. They had prayed for and anticipated the Messiah for a very long time. Now the Messiah seemed to have come but He was changing everything – including what they thought they knew about being in relationship with God.
The question that they faced then is the same one that we face today: Where do I fit in when Jesus rearranges things? We are going to examine this question for the next three weeks as we set the vision for our church in 2026. Join us as we take a look at where we fit into the Kingdom of God on Earth.
